IRAN TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Join us on this amazing journey through beautiful Iran and discover ancient Persian ruins, intricately decorated mosques, enchanting Islamic cities, and the welcoming nature of the local Iranian people. Begin your 12-day tour in the countries capital, Tehran, home to chic cafes and teahouses, excellent museums, and a scenic mountainous backdrop. Next up, Isfahan, Iran’s most aesthetically pleasing city. This place has an abundance of beautiful Islamic buildings, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and plenty of traditional culture. From here, travel to Yazd, an enchanting city which begs for you to get lost down its winding alleys and historic backstreets. Finish your Iran tour in Shiraz, the heart of Persia, and the once Iranian capital. The Shiraz region was home to some of the world’s earliest vineyards, and of course, Persepolis, the capital of the Achaemenid Empire from 550 – 330 BC.

Day 1 – Arrive Tehran
When you arrive in Tehran, make your way to the hotel for check-in, which will be from 2pm onwards. Today is an arrival day so there are no planned activities. If you arrive in time, you can join your guide and the rest of the group for dinner to get to know your fellow travellers! Overnight in Tehran.
Day 2 – Tehran
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your city tour of Tehran, which will include a visit to the National Museum, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Golestan Palace and Tehran’s Old Bazaar. In the afternoon, you will visit the 270m long Nature Bridge, which connects two of Tehran’s public parks. Overnight in Tehran.
Day 3 – Tehran / Kashan / Abyaneh
After breakfast, you will begin the journey to Abyaneh, stopping on the way in Kashan, to visit the historical houses, Agha Bozorg Mosque, and the beautiful Fin Garden. We will then reach Abyaneh, a small and ancient village in the mountains, where some inhabitants still wear traditional clothes. Here, you will experience traditional Iranian lifestyle and visit one of the oldest fire temples. Overnight in Abyaneh.
Day 4 – Abyaneh / Isfahan
After breakfast, you will begin the drive to Isfahan, Iran’s most aesthetically pleasing city. Overnight in Isfahan.
Day 5 – Isfahan
After breakfast, you will begin your city tour of Isfahan, during which you will visit the Naqsh-e Jahan Square, also known as Imam Square, which was constructed during the late 1500’s and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you will visit Ali Qapu Palace, Sheik Lotfollah Mosque and Chehel Sotoun. Overnight in Isfahan.
Day 6 – Isfahan
This morning you will visit the very impressive and beautifully decorated, Jameh Mosque, another UNESCO site and one of the oldest mosques still standing in Iran. From here, you will visit the Vank Cathedral, and in the afternoon, enjoy walking over Isfahan’s famous bridges, Si-o-se Pol and Pol-e Khaju. Overnight in Isfahan.
Day 7 – Isfahan / Yazd
After breakfast at the hotel in Isfahan, you will begin the journey to Yazd. Upon arrival, you will get checked-in to your hotel and then visit the Wind Towers, or Windcatchers as they are also known, as well as the old part of the city. Overnight in Yazd.
Day 8 – Yazd / Shiraz
After breakfast, visit the Zoroastrian Fire Temple, the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, the Prison of Alexander and the Tomb of the 12 Imams. You will then be driven to Shiraz to check-in to your new hotel. Overnight in Shiraz.
Day 9 - Shiraz
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your city tour of Shiraz, which will include visits to Karim Khan Fortress, a huge fortress built during the Zand period, the Nasir Ol Molk Mosque, also known as the ‘Pink Mosque’, the resting places of the great poets Saadieh & Hafezieh, and the beautiful Narenjestan Garden. Overnight in Shiraz.
Day 10 – Shiraz / Persepolis / Shiraz
Today you will be visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Persepolis. Persepolis, or ‘The Persian City’, was the capital of the Achaemenid Empire and the structures you will see here date back to 515 BC. From here, travel 12km north to the even older site of Naqsh-e Rustam, where ancient rock engravings date back to 1000 BC. Overnight in Shiraz.
Day 11 – Shiraz / Tehran
After breakfast, catch the morning flight back to Tehran to visit the Sa’dabad Complex and explore the markets of Tajrish Square. Overnight in Tehran.
Day 12 – Depart Tehran
Today, your Highlights of Iran tour will come to an end. After breakfast, you will have free time before heading back to the airport for international flights home.

- The process for obtaining a visa for Iran can take up to 2 months so we recommend booking as early as possible.

Our guides will organise dinners and anything else you might need, to ensure you have the best holiday. Clothing The weather will be very hot during the day so bring light, loose-fitting clothing. Please also be aware that women are required to wear a head scarf at all times, as well as keeping arms and legs completely covered, with a top long enough to reach your knees. Men are also required to dress conservatively. Health Always seek medical advice from your doctor or travel nurse at least eight weeks before you travel and make sure your vaccinations are up to date. Remember that your travel insurance may not cover you if you do not have up-to-date vaccinations.
