INDIA TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Comprised of India’s most popular cities, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, this amazing 7 night Golden Triangle tour is perfect for Solo Travellers looking to get a taste of life in India, not to mention a glimpse at one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Starting in Delhi, a place steeped in rich history, with tours of both the Old and New City, we work our way south, to Agra, to visit architectural delight, the Taj Mahal. One of the world’s seven wonders, this magnificent structure was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife in 1632 and is an undoubted highlight of this trip. From here, we’ll be heading west to Jaipur, stopping on the way to visit the abandoned mogul capital of Fatehpur Sikri. Once in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, we will visit the stunning Amber Fort, the Palace of the Winds and the City Palace. Depending on the time of year, it is also in Jaipur where you can join the locals in their colourful celebrations of Holi Festival to finish up your Incredible India tour.

Day 1 – Arrive Delhi
Arrive and check-in to your hotel. Dinner will be arranged for the evening. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 2 – Delhi
Today is the first full day of your incredible India tour. After breakfast, you will begin a full day tour of the city of Delhi. In the morning, you will visit Old Delhi. Begin at the historic Red Fort, where Shah Jahan’s elegant red sandstone citadel stands surrounded by a 9m deep moat. Continue on to India’s largest mosque, Jama Masjid, before taking an interesting rickshaw ride though the famous bazaars of Chandni Chowk. Time permitting, you will also visit Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Ghandi. In the afternoon, you will explore New Delhi, which will include visits to the curious Qutab Minar, the magnificent red sandstone and white marble structure of the Tomb of Humayun, and also the India Gate, a memorial site for the First World War and the road that leads to Rashtrapathi Bhawan, residence of the President of India.
Day 3 – Delhi / Agra
Today you will be transferred to Agra. Home to one of the 7 wonders of the world, Agra is a vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Mughal Empire. Known for its superb inlay work on marble and soapstone, Agra is a pleasant town with a relaxed pace. Once you have checked in to the hotel, you will visit the incredible Taj Mahal. In the afternoon, you will visit Agra Fort, which stands like a crescent on the banks of the Jamuna River, enclosed by 20m high walls and a 12m deep moat. This massive structure contains both Hindu and Muslim architecture. Later, you will visit the tomb of I’timād-ud-Daulah, built by Empress Noor Jahan in 1625 AD.
Day 4 – Agra / Fatehpur Sikri / Jaipur
After breakfast you will drive to Fatehpur Sikri, often referred to as the abandoned Mogul capital. This 16th century capital consists of forts, palaces and mosques built in sandstone. From here, you will continue on to Jaipur, ‘The Pink City’, where you will spend the remainder of your trip.
Day 5 – Jaipur
After breakfast, proceed to Amber Fort. Inside the fort, you will visit the Jag Mandir, a room with all 4 walls and ceilings completely embedded with glittering pieces of mirror. In the afternoon you will visit Maharaja’s City Palace, a small portion of which is still used by the Royal Family of Jaipur, Jantar Mantar, the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world, and Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds.
Day 6 – Jaipur
If you are travelling in spring, today you can partake in activities with the locals at the Holi Festival of Colours! If you are travelling later in the year, today we will make a day trip to the city of Pushkar to explore. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 7 – Jaipur / Delhi
You will have your last full day of this incredible India tour at leisure to further explore the city of Jaipur. A late afternoon transfer takes you back to Delhi, where you will spend the night.
Day 8 – Depart Delhi
