Begin your Highlights of Russia Tour in stunning St. Petersburg, where you will visit the famous Hermitage Museum, a number of beautifully decorated cathedrals, and the best food market in the city. Take a day trip to Pushkin to admire the intricately adorned Catherine’s Palace and its huge garden grounds. Travelling south by train, you will reach the countries capital, Moscow. Day 1 – Arrive St. Petersburg
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Dinner will be arranged for the first night of your Russia tour!
Day 2 – St. Petersburg
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your city tour of St. Petersburg. You will start with a walk through the cobbled streets of the Dostoevsky Quarter before heading to one of the best food markets in the city, the Kuznechny Market, which supplies some of St. Petersburg’s top restaurants. From here, you will visit the House of St. Peter the Great, and St. Peter’s & Paul Cathedral, and then have the afternoon free to further explore the city. Overnight in St. Petersburg.
Day 3 – St. Petersburg
After breakfast, you will explore the Hermitage Museum, home of Russian art and culture, and one of the oldest and largest museums in the world. Afterwards, visit Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, whose dome still dominates St. Petersburg’s skyline today, plus there are amazing panoramic views of the city from the top. The afternoon will be spent at your leisure. Overnight in St. Petersburg.
Day 4 – St. Petersburg / Moscow
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be travelling 30km south of St. Petersburg to Pushkin where you will visit Catherine Palace, a huge palace named after Catherine I, wife of Peter the Great. The palace is nearly 1km in circumference, and every inch is beautifully decorated – not to be missed! You will then return to St. Petersburg to catch the high-speed train to Moscow. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Overnight in Moscow.
Day 5 – Moscow
After breakfast, you will begin your city tour in Moscow’s historical centre on the famous Arbat Street before visiting UNESCO World Heritage Site and Russia’s heart and soul, the Red Square, arguably the heart and soul of Russia. From here, you will visit the Novodevichy Convent, built in the 16th and 17th centuries, the convent is a classic example of Russian architecture and is also home to several important paintings and artefacts. Next… vodka. You will be a given a short Vodka Tasting tour because, well, when in Russia. Overnight in Moscow.
Day 6 – Moscow
After breakfast at the hotel, you will make a visit to the Moscow Kremlin, the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation. You will also visit Saint Basil’s Cathedral, perhaps Moscow’s most iconic building, before spending the afternoon at your leisure to further explore the city.
Day 7 – Moscow
Today will be spent at your leisure. A traditional dinner and folk-show will be organised for the last night of your Russia tour. Overnight in Moscow.
Day 8 – Depart Moscow
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for international flights home.

Hosts One of our local guides will meet you at the airport upon arrival in Russia, and will be your main point of contact throughout the trip. Our guides will organise dinners and anything else you might need, to ensure you have the best holiday.
Clothing Russian summers are generally warm, and can sometimes be very hot, so make sure you take lots of sun protection. Sudden downpours regularly occur so it’s also a good idea to carry an umbrella with you. Bring light, loose-fitting clothes for the heat, and some items to keep your shoulders and knees covered for visiting Orthodox cathedrals. Comfortable shoes are a must.
